Not that this establishment hasn’t made provisions: with so many weddings to cater for, how can anybody be allowed to forget? It’s also smart enough to retain every trace of its personal history: case in point, the menu remains as thick as a four-generation saga.
The congee is still a big deal, so much so that 25 varieties of meat and veggies are made available as accompaniment in tapas style. The lo mie asam pedas is beefy and seemingly bottomless, with a toothsome tinge of citrus and pepper. Stake out on your meat: go for the whole BBQ enchilada of roast chicken, roast duck, cha siu and crispy samcan and you won’t leave disappointed. But what really anchors the room is the udang goreng telur asin, fried shrimp with salted eggs that can take on Wan Toe’s and Li Yen’s anytime.
